Please join the growing list of curling clubs holding fundraising events for the Sandra Schmirler Foundation!
In 2020, one curling club in every province and the territories will receive a $10,000 grant for a hospital in your local community, for the purchase of life-saving equipment to help save the lives of babies born too soon, too small, or too sick.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS
One club from every province and territory will receive $10,000 for their local community hospital. Representatives from your club will be part of the cheque presentation to the hospital.
We’ll share photos of the cheque presentations on social media.
For every $50 raised by your curling club, you will receive one ballot in a random draw. Deadline for receiving funds raised is April 30. The draw will take place on May 31, 2020 from all participating clubs in your province or territory.
We’ll share your fundraising events on Facebook and Twitter.
You can download the poster below, to print and post at your club.
We have a long list of different fundraising ideas at:
Sandra’s legacy lives on through the Sandra Schmirler Foundation that has raised over $4.7 million dollars to fund life-saving equipment for Newborn Intensive Care Units (NICUs) in over 60 different hospitals across Canada.
We are the only charity in Canada dedicated to funding specialized equipment to help save babies lives.
We’re very grateful to Jet Ice and over 125 curling clubs across Canada that installed our Champions Start Small logo in their ice. Jet Ice generously provided us with 700 decals but unfortunately; we couldn’t keep up to the demand. We hope we can repeat this offer next season for those clubs we couldn’t accommodate this year.
We’re asking for your help to realize our vision that every baby born in Canada has the chance to grow up and a champion, like Sandra.
