Impact Report 2022

This year you once again helped award over $1 million to Neonatal Intensive Care Units across Canada!

This year you have helped save the lives of vulnerable babies all across the country.

Sandra Schmirler Foundation 2021-2022 Audited Financial Statements

The Sandra Schmirler Foundation encourages the athletic and academic careers of promising Canadian curlers by offering annual scholarships. Beginning in 2013, the Sandra Schmirler Foundation has awarded $5,000 scholarships to six junior curlers annually. The scholarship funds education and curling expenses equally.

Each Spirit of Sandra Scholar organizes a fundraising event to ensure that Sandra’s Legacy Lives On. Every year, scholars are given the opportunity to select one hospital to receive a grant to purchase life-saving equipment for its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

“The best part of being a Spirit of Sandra Scholar is the opportunities you receive; hosting your own fundraiser, being mentored by Champion curlers, meeting new people, and helping the Sandra Schmirler Foundation achieve its mission and aspirations. The close-knit friendships I’ve made with the other scholars have been amazing. And, being able to help continue Sandra’s legacy has been an absolute honour.”
