When Scarlett was born in 2017 she weighed just 680 grams. She joined us in February 2024 at the Sandra Schmirler Foundation Donor Tribute Evening at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts where her mother Katie told the incredible story of Scarlett’s journey inside the Foothills Medical Centre NICU.
Your generosity helped us present $70,000 in funding for the Foothills NICU for the purchase of a Criticool Unit and a transcutaneous CO2 monitor to help more babies like Scarlett.

At this weekend’s Grand Slam of Curling HearingLife Tour Challenge in Charlottetown, we presented a $20,000 grant to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation for life-saving NICU equipment. We’re proud to support the smallest babies in Canada’s smallest province. #ChampionsStartSmall
As a new month begins and many start to dust off their curling shoes and brooms, we want to wish everyone good luck this season! 🥌 Curling centres, like the Thornhill Curling Club, are at the heart of the sport, bringing together communities and inspiring our youth. We are so grateful to clubs across the country for their unwavering support over the past two decades, helping us raise almost $9 million to provide life-saving equipment for babies. Together, we continue to build a grassroots legacy that shows Champions Start Small. 🤝
